The Basics

Mark is the father of Game Accessibility, bring the plight of gamers with disabilities out of the halls of acedima, and into the marketplace of ideas when he founded the AbleGamers Charity in 2004.

He served in the United States Air Force, training to become a medic and clinical microbiologist. His service laid the ground work for a lifetime of helping others that is reflected in his work to this day. Mark’s military career was cut short when he had a fall that featured two places in his spinal cord. His recovery left him with no viable disability, the accident dramatically clanged his future. He was Honorably Discharged in the fall of 1996.

Dec 2002 - Senior Quality Assurance/Quality Assurance Lead, Booz | Allen Hamilton

Worked for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cincinnati on, a clearing house for federal payments to the United States Government

July 2002 - Systems Analyst IV, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)

Recruited to lead quality assurance processes based on industry standards and best practices. Expertly implemented and utilized Mercury Test Director tool. Audited documentation and testing processes for government client ensuring compliance with the RFP.

Oct 2000 - Lead Quality Assurance Engineer, International Business Machines (IBM)

Proactively managed several simultaneous projects, testing high-end media delivery systems for industry leading computer company.

Feb 2000 - Sr. QA Engineer - Whitman Heart / marchFIRST

Collaborated with a team of testers to perform system testing on a significant e-commerce solution for a large music store.  Trained and mentored junior testers in the principles of testing and department methodologies.

Feb 1997 - Independent Contractor

Contracted to perform test cases that pinpointed software defects for various short-term projects.  Created and updated databases to store system and beta testing documentation, analyzed user requirements, developed test standards and assisted in optimizing staff productivity.  Aided tracking of Data Processing Service Requests, preparing cost estimates and approving system enhancements.  Contributed to the development of a library that contained all test scripts and test data.
